The body's systems
Each view shows one system, with the rest as faint context. Pick a part below to jump to it.
Female and male differences
Most of the body is built the same way. The clearest differences are in the pelvis, the reproductive organs and overall size.

Common misconceptions
Where the shapes come from
The male body is one scanned adult man from BodyParts3D, with lungs and spinal cord from the NIH Visible Human Male, and the face, jaw, back and abdominal muscles, ligaments, nerves, lymph nodes and thyroid that BodyParts3D lacks from Z-Anatomy. The female skin, organs, brain, pelvis, thigh and leg bones, breastbone and spinal discs are from the NIH Visible Human Female.
No free model of a female skeleton or muscles exists. The rest of her skeleton, all her muscles, and the few organs the NIH set lacks (such as the stomach) are the male ones, fitted to her body: warped to match her scanned bones, spine, organs and outline. Parts built this way say Fitted in their details.
